Terms of service
Traades helps you build and host a simple website for your trade business. Building and saving are free. Publishing costs £4.99 a month, including applicable tax, and renews monthly until you cancel.
Who you are dealing with
Traades is operated by Little Bird Solutions Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 09846278. Our registered office is Friarsfield, Glaisdale, Whitby, England, YO21 2PS. Email contact@traades.co for service questions, complaints and reports about a website we host.
These terms cover your use of Traades and our website-building and hosting service. The data processing terms form part of these terms when we host personal information on your behalf. Our privacy notice explains how we use information for our own purposes. Payment terms shown by Stripe and Link at checkout also apply to the transaction.
Using Traades for your business
The service is for business use, including sole traders. You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for the business whose website you create. When you create an account or order a subscription, you agree to these terms on that business's behalf. If you buy mainly for personal purposes, tell us before ordering; a business-use label does not remove any consumer rights that the law gives you.
Keep your sign-in email secure. We use email codes rather than passwords, so access to that inbox can give someone access to your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for the instructions you authorise, but not for problems caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
Building, saving and publishing
You can start building without an account. A guest draft is available in that browser for seven days after its last successful save or upload. Save to a free account to keep working across devices. A guest draft can expire; keep your own copies of important text and photos.
Saving a draft does not publish it or start a subscription. After payment is confirmed, we publish the version you reviewed for checkout. Later edits stay private until you publish them. Check the public page after publication, including its contact details and any claims about your business.
Your subscription includes one business website at a Traades address, hosting and the features available in the builder. Current limits include 20 services, 100 areas, 20 customer comments, 12 gallery photos, one logo and five links. The builder explains upload and text limits. A custom domain, email inbox, booking system and enquiry form are not included in this plan. Phone, email and WhatsApp buttons open the relevant service or app.
Website addresses are subject to availability and must not impersonate someone or infringe their rights. A published address cannot currently be changed in the builder; contact us if there is a problem. You do not acquire ownership of a Traades domain or of the hosting software.
Price, renewal and payment
The base subscription price is £4.99 GBP per month, including applicable tax. There is no annual commitment. Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled; the next payment date is shown in billing. Checkout may offer a converted local amount. Review the currency, total and recurring amount shown there before paying. We do not add a separate setup fee.
We use Stripe Managed Payments. Sold through Link, LLC acts as merchant of record for covered transactions and handles payment collection and applicable indirect taxes. Traades remains responsible for supplying the website service. Your receipt and checkout identify the payment provider and the terms that apply. We do not receive your full card number.
You authorise the recurring payments described at checkout. Use Account → Manage billing and receipts to see billing details, update a payment method and manage renewal. Do not start another subscription to fix an outstanding payment; use the payment-recovery option or contact us.
We will give at least 30 days' email notice of an increase to our GBP base price. It will apply only to a later renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect. A currency conversion or exchange-rate change shown by the payment provider is separate from a change to our GBP base price.
Cancellation, refunds and payment problems
You can cancel renewal in Account → Manage billing and receipts. Cancellation normally keeps your website available until the end of the paid period, then takes it offline. See cancellation and refunds for the steps and support options.
Unpublishing your website does not cancel the subscription. Signing out, closing a browser tab or removing photos does not cancel it either. If you want to stop future charges, cancel renewal in billing or contact us if you cannot access it.
Ordinary mid-month cancellation does not automatically create a refund for unused days. This does not limit refunds for billing mistakes, service failures, mandatory legal rights or the rights provided by Link's applicable refund policy. Stripe may issue a refund under that policy, including within its 60-day refund window. Contact us about a service problem and use the support details on your receipt for transaction help.
An initial failed payment does not publish your website. After a failed renewal of an already paid subscription, we normally allow up to seven days after the paid period ends to resolve payment. Immediate cancellation, an unpaid status, a current-payment refund, a dispute or a security suspension can end availability sooner. We may take the website offline while a reversed or disputed payment is reviewed. Fixing payment does not automatically undo a manual unpublish instruction.
Your content and your customers
You keep your rights in your text, photos, logo and other content. You give us permission to store, process, resize and display it as needed to provide and protect the service, including publishing it when you instruct us. This permission does not let us use your content in our own advertising without separate permission. It ends when we no longer need the content for the service or a lawful retention purpose.
You must have the rights and a lawful basis to upload and publish content. Get appropriate permission before showing identifiable customers, people, private homes or someone else's work. A review being visible on another website does not automatically give you permission to copy it. Keep reviews genuine and accurately attributed; do not invent qualifications, memberships, guarantees or customer feedback. Check suggested text before publishing it.
Do not upload confidential records, payment details, identity documents, sensitive personal information or information about children. Do not use Traades for unlawful content, fraud, harassment, hate, malware, impersonation or infringement of intellectual property or privacy. Do not probe other accounts, bypass limits or interfere with the service.
You are responsible for your trade work, customer contracts, licences, insurance and the legal information your own business website needs. Traades is not a trade accreditation service or a party to your customers' jobs. We do not promise enquiries, sales or a position in Google, ChatGPT or any other search service.
Published content is public and may be indexed, copied or cached elsewhere. Unpublishing stops delivery from Traades; it cannot erase copies held by visitors, search engines or other services.
Service changes and availability
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Hosting depends on internet access and suppliers, and maintenance or faults can interrupt it. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or a fixed search ranking. Keep copies of material you cannot afford to lose; Traades is not a general backup service.
We may improve the service and make changes needed for law, security or reliability. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what you have paid for, and at least 30 days' notice where practicable. If such a change materially disadvantages you, you can end the affected service and request a refund for the unused paid period. Urgent security or legal changes may need to happen sooner.
Suspension and ending the service
We can restrict content or accounts where reasonably necessary to address unlawful content, a serious breach, a payment reversal or a security risk. Where lawful and practical, we will explain why and give you an opportunity to put it right. You can ask us to review a decision by emailing us with your website address and supporting information. We may have to act immediately to protect people or comply with law.
If we stop providing the paid service for reasons other than your serious breach, we will give at least 30 days' notice where practicable and arrange a refund of any unused prepaid service. You can end your account by emailing us. Cancellation, unpublishing and deletion are separate instructions: tell us what you want, and we will confirm the billing and content position before completing an account closure.
There is no automatic website export tool. You can copy your text and keep your original photos, or ask us to help return your stored content. Data return and deletion are described in our privacy notice and data processing terms. Ending a paid subscription does not itself delete a saved draft.
If something goes wrong
Email us with your website address, the problem and the outcome you are looking for. We will investigate and explain our response. For payment and refund help you can also use Link's support details on your receipt. You do not have to give up a legal right to ask for help or receive a refund.
Neither party excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
For business customers, subject to those exceptions and only so far as the law permits, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £500 and the subscription fees you paid for that period. This limit does not restrict our obligations to return your content, refund fees properly due back to you, or meet liabilities that data protection law says cannot be limited. We remain responsible for foreseeable direct loss caused by our breach, subject to that limit. These provisions do not limit liability where doing so would be unreasonable or unlawful.
Changes to these terms and governing law
We will notify account holders by email before a material change to these terms, normally at least 30 days in advance. Changes will apply going forward. You can cancel before a change takes effect; if a change materially reduces an already paid service, the unused-period refund above applies. Changes needed urgently for law or security may take effect sooner, with an explanation.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Business disputes may be brought in its courts. Any mandatory consumer protections and rights to use a local court remain in place. If one provision cannot be enforced, the rest of the terms continue to apply.
